Join us for the ultimate hiking adventure!
We are planning a trip to spend two weeks driving cross-country so that we can hike the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon, plus a few other stops along the way. During the trip we will be staying overnight at 8 different BSA camps and camping in the Grand Canyon.
The cost is estimated to be $750 per person. Your deposit of $75 is due by October 30, 2017 Monthly payments can be made November 2017-May 2018
Final cost per person will be dependent upon: number of people attending, fundraising efforts, gas costs in summer 2018, any other price changes until June 2018. This is considered a high adventure criteria in order to attend. Please see the Scoutmaster if you have any questions about qualifying for this trip. Keep in mind that most hiking days will range between 5-8 hours of hiking each day and will include serious altitude changes.
If you are interested, please return this signed form and your payment no later than October 30, 2017 or you will not be able to join on this Trip.

There is an opportunity to work a booth sale from 12-4 on Saturday. Please let Anne know if your scout or crew member can work it. Part of the money from this years popcorn sales is going to a trip fund for 2018 Grand Canyon trip.
Also the troop is camping with the cub scouts at the District Campout at FT Boonesbourgh this weekend. Permissions slips were handed out last week and one is attached. Food will be $5.00 paid preferably in cash tonight. If writing a check make it out to Anne Weinberger who is buying the food. The troop is providing the staff for archry and some of the scouts will help with crafts. The craft near our campsite is candle making. We need approx. 5-8 scouts to volunteer to come. The troop has not had as many campouts this year as normal and this will be a good one for those looking to wrap up rank requirements or outdoor merit badges. There is a hiking trail that the troop has never hiked at this park. Tell your scout to let Anne and Guy know if they need to cook, shop for a meal or any other requirement this weekend. We want this to also be a good time for our scouts to work on advancements. It is close enough that if they need to come down after the football game Friday or leave and come back during the weekend they can do so. Please let Anne and Guy know what the game plan is for your scout . Mike has to work Saturday but will be helping Friday night. We need to know who is going tonight or is a possibility to make sure we have rides arranged for them Friday. Guy and I will already be on site when the troop is leaving from the scouthouse and we need to let the leaders driving know who to expect. Thank you
